The Narodnaya Tropa is the award for the victory in the nomination "The Most Popular Shopping Center" within the yearly Rating of Shopping Centers.
The Rating of Shopping Centers is the of the best-known and most prestigious events held in Russia. Every year dozens top managers of development, management, and consulting companies, and state officials take part in it. The victory in this rating means public recognition at the highest level, the prestige and respect of Russia’s business community.
This event is organized by the Russian Council of Shopping Centers (RCSC). The RCSC is a professional association of developers, architects, top managers, real estate owners, and retailers – all those who deal with shopping real estate as well as retailers.
In 2005, the WATCOM Ltd. established their own nomination "Narodnaya Tropa. The Most Popular Shopping Center" within this Rating.
The key criterion in accordance with which the winner is chosen in this nomination is its attendance rate. The number of visitors of a shopping center, the density of their flows is the main mark showing that this shopping center is popular and that it is developing successfully.
Thus, it is actually visitors that elect the most popular shopping center, and the WATCOM Ltd. as an expert in estimating people flows juxtaposes the candidates with different areas and forms. Analytics of the WATCOM Ltd. analyze the candidates’ attendance rates, compare them, and recommend the RCSC to award the winner.
During two years the crystal cubes with the title "The Most Popular Shopping Center" have been granted to the Gorbushkin Dvor Shopping Center (2005) and the Gorod Shopping and Entertainment Center (2006).
